Compostable
Compostable Packaging
Accredo Packaging can create fully-recyclable packages with renewable content up to 97%. This resin is derived from sugar cane allowing for a negative carbon footprint package. Biobased products offer outstanding performance similar to traditional products.
- High moisture and gas barrier performance
- Reduces carbon footprint and GHG emissions
- Does not impact recyclability
Accredo was the first company globally to manufacture an ASTM D-6400 certified zippered stand-up pouch that is compostable in industrial composting facilities.
We have continued to innovate in the compostable packaging segment by exploring and integrating the latest film technologies into our products and by continuing to use our sustainable manufacturing processes. Our expanded gamut printing process eliminates all ink changes which results in up to 95% ink waste reduction, and up to 35% less ink and solvent usage. Our pre-press department also offers waste reduction resources such as digital plate-making and automated plate-mounting which enhances color accuracy and registration.
What is “Certified Compostable”?
These are biopolymer-based products with the functionality of traditional products. However, they will biodegrade completely and safely when composted.
Compostable or “Organic Recycling”
Smart companies understand that switching to recyclable flexible packaging can help them meet their sustainability goals while enhancing their brand values, reducing costs, and leveraging new growth opportunities.
Let’s create a more sustainable future together

Cleaner oceans start by preventing plastics from entering them in the first place. Being able to recycle that plastic is even better. That’s the concept driving OceanBound Plastics. We take material at-risk of becoming ocean pollution and turn it into a reliable plastic resin. Combining supply chain experience with technical expertise, we create a versatile product that can be used in virtually any application where HDPE is preferred. Every pound of OceanBound Plastic is potential pollution transformed into a recyclable resource.

I'm green PE is a plastic produced from sugarcane, a renewable raw material, while traditional PE uses fossil fuel sourced raw materials. For this reason, I'm green PE captures CO2 from the atmosphere during its production, helping to reduce greenhouse gases emissions. Additionally, suppliers must follow principles of sustainable development present in the "Responsible Ethanol Sourcing" developed and implemented by Braskem, which covers aspects such as respect for biodiversity and good environmental practices. I'm green PE retains the same properties, performance and application versatility of traditional PE and can be recycled within traditional PE recycling streams.
